Why a Consistent, Positive Message Matters CEO Insights 08-13-2026 By Jim Steinlage President & Chief Executive Officer During interviews and team meetings I consistently share that at Choice Solutions we strive to provide stability, predictability, strong morals, solid family values, and a positive work environment where team members can succeed both professionally and personally. While compensation is important, I believe an organization’s culture and values have a far greater impact on long-term job satisfaction. My personal values are deeply influenced by my family and faith-based upbringing. I was taught to give, serve, be honest, remain humble, and always strive to do what is right, even when it is difficult or comes at a personal cost. Although our team members come from different countries, backgrounds, and belief systems, our desire is to create a workplace where honesty, respect, compassion, and servant leadership are evident in our actions every day. Stability is one of the most valuable qualities an organization can provide, yet many organizations struggle to achieve it because of how they are structured or managed. A stable organization is built on a strong financial foundation, consistent leadership, and a clear vision for the future. Team members gain confidence when they know their organization is prepared to navigate economic challenges and is committed to long-term success rather than short-term gains. Job security reduces stress and allows people to focus on achieving both personal and professional goals, developing new skills, and contributing to the organization’s WIGs (Wildly Important Goals). We have found that team members perform at their best when they are not worried about layoffs, mergers, or constant restructuring. Predictability is equally important because it creates consistency and trust. Team members perform at their highest level when expectations are clearly communicated, and policies are applied fairly and consistently. In a predictable organization, everyone understands how the WIGs are established, how performance is measured, how bonuses are earned, and what opportunities exist for growth and advancement. Consistent communication, scheduling, and workplace expectations eliminate uncertainty and allow team members to remain focused on their responsibilities. Strong morals are not about displaying organizational values on a wall or talking about them during meetings; they are about living those values every day. For us, those principles are defined by our organization’s values which serve as the foundation for everything we do. Team members want to work for organizations that conduct business honestly, treat people fairly, and demonstrate integrity in every decision. The size of a transaction should never determine whether a decision is right or wrong. Organizations earn the trust of their team members, customers, and communities through consistent actions rather than words. Family values are another essential part of our culture. Growing up in a rural farming community taught me the importance of working together as a family, supporting one another, and celebrating shared success. My faith has also taught me that strong families are at the core of a meaningful and successful life, and that organizations should strengthen, not compete with the relationships that matter most. Team members appreciate organizations that include spouses, children, and loved ones in activities and encourage a healthy balance between work responsibilities and personal life. Flexible scheduling, family leave, wellness initiatives, and compassion during personal emergencies demonstrate that an organization values its team members as people, not simply as workers or a means of generating revenue. A family-oriented culture also strengthens relationships throughout the workplace. Team members are more likely to support one another, celebrate achievements, and overcome challenges together when they feel connected by a shared purpose. This sense of community creates an environment where team members genuinely enjoy coming to work and feel valued by both their coworkers and leadership. Strong relationships improve communication, reduce conflict, encourage teamwork, and ultimately contribute to higher productivity and greater job satisfaction. These values also serve as a catalyst for professional growth. One of our WIGs is investing in the development of our team members through training, mentoring, coaching, and providing opportunities for advancement. A long-term commitment to developing people benefits both the individual and the organization. Team members gain valuable skills, prepare for future opportunities, and remain motivated to improve their performance. I believe one of the greatest accomplishments of any organization is helping people discover and develop the unique talents and potential that was divinely instilled in each of them. Another significant benefit of prioritizing stability, predictability, strong morals, and family values is the positive impact on team members’ mental well-being. Uncertainty and unethical behavior often create stress, anxiety, and burnout. In contrast, a supportive workplace provides emotional security, allowing people to communicate openly, learn from mistakes, and contribute new ideas without fear of unfair treatment or retaliation. This leads to encouraging creativity, confidence, innovation, and continuous improvement. When people know they are genuinely cared for, they are more willing to invest not only their talents, but also their hearts into the organization and its mission. My faith continually reminds me that leadership is a calling to serve others, not ourselves. If we can help improve someone’s life, strengthen a family, encourage personal growth, positively influence another person’s journey, and at the same time build a financially stable organization, then I consider that among our greatest accomplishments. Ultimately, our mission as an organization is to grow and prosper while remaining faithful to our values of serving, vision, family, greatness, and a farmer’s mentality. We also strive to help our team members build a balanced “Spokes of Life Wheel,” where family, financial, mental, physical, spiritual, and social well-being are all developed. Many organizations help people strengthen only a few of life’s spokes, but true happiness comes from pursuing balance across all of life’s valued parts. Stability, predictability, strong morals, solid family values, and a positive work environment where team members are proud of the work they do, proud of their fellow team members, and proud of the organization they represent can have a positive influence on a person’s success, purpose, and overall happiness. My hope is that our actions consistently reflect the values we profess, that our leadership always demonstrates integrity, humility, compassion, and excellence, and that through serving others we honor our creator in everything we do.
